DRONE FUNDRAISER
Since January 2022, I have been documenting events in Ukraine. After the war began, the effort shifted to cover destruction in areas around Kyiv, Kharkiv, Vinnytsia and Lviv. A key tool used to show this damage is drone footage. But, we have to replace our drone. If you can help with this effort, we thank you. Our goal is $1600, which will cover the drone and some accessories. Any amount is appreciated. Thank you for your support. If you cannot afford contribution, please pass the information on. Thank you.
Thank you for stopping by and I hope you enjoy the photos I’ve shared with you. I strive daily to find more creative compositional ideas to push my boundaries and feedback on the input of some brilliant minds who give me their input. If you are looking for a photographer or wish to purchase any photo here, drop me a message on the contact page. Signed photos are available for a reasonable printing fee.
There are too many stories in the war against Ukraine to tell them all, and thankfully there are many photojournalists covering the most important stories. Sometimes you have to go to the zones yourself to share a perspective of the tragedy first hand. Going to Izyum was just such an experience. It was liberated only two weeks before and still in a state of shock upon arrival. The electricity was still out and the mission shifted to bringing in supplies to the vulnerable.
PHOTOSTORY
There is truth to the saying, war is the betrayal of humanity. In Ukraine, the community buries their dead with grace, dignity and collective sense of loss.
The family, community, and press arrive daily at the Garrison Church of St. Apostles Peter and Paul in Lviv. The fallen are young soldiers in Ukraine’s fight for safety and their very existence.
PROJECT UKRAINE
I have been in Ukraine since January 2022 and it has been a most amazing experience on so many levels. The tremendous sadness of lives lost to an unprovoked war from Russia against the Ukrainian people is a daily experience. It doesn’t take much to remind the more peaceful areas of the country of the tragedy unfolding in the east. The country has a spirit you have to experience in person to understand fully. The deep kindness and generosity of spirit here will live with me forever.
I have photographed many people, locations, situations and settings. The devastation of war in Bucha, Makariv, Borodyanka, Kyiv, Kharkiv and Lviv, are forever in my mind and lens. The joy of the culture was equally part of the experience. Live music, holiday celebrations, food, street photos and more are also part of the experience. Galleries of the experience are coming.
