On February 3, 2022, I walked to the office of my best friend’s language school when across the street on Yaroslava Val, in front of a very lovely unique piece of architecture were two musicians clearly on the top level of skills… playing violin and guitar in a jazz, gypsy jazz and traditional Ukrainian fusion of tunes that were perfectly played.

The next day I went to record the duo with snow all around, clear skies and as you will see, the open statue behind of Yaroslav the Wise. 20 days later, the war would arrive in Ukraine. These two brothers would set on a course that changed their lives and many around them.

After the war had entered its 5th month, the need to keep bills paid wasn’t the only motivation for a musician. The people need you. They need to go out during the day and feel normal.

I passed the guys and said we had to document some of the Christmas songs I could hear added. They invited me to record the upcoming Christmas Concert which we did.
